International music star and humanitarian activist, Rocky Dawuni is billed to treat Ghanaians to a phenomenal night of music at this season’s edition of 3 Music awards.
The second edition of the 3Music Awards will be staged, at the Fantasy Dome, La-Accra, slated for 30th March,2019 and will mark one of Rocky Dawuni’s major appearances in the country and the stakes are high for the Reggae artiste to dazzle with his charismatic band.
The ‘Best Ghanaian International Act’ category nominee for this year’s awards, and the Grammy nominated artiste expressed his pleasure to organizers for keeping an eye on his progress and recognizing his achievements.
Multimedia Group Limited(MGL) under the able management of Dr. Kwesi Twum earlier this year emerged as official partners with 3Music Awards Ghana after the award scheme ended it contractual dealings with Media General Ghana Limited, Tv3 abruptly.
Dawuni had recorded seven full length albums by 2019. His sixth studio album titled Branches of The Same Tree released 31 March 2015 was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album in December 2015 for the 58th Annual Grammy Awards, the first nominee from his home country of Ghana. Beats of Zion, the 2019 single of Rocky which was released January 25th  is a precursor to his 7th studio album which also bears the same title
The Reggae sensational artiste got acquainted with Reggae in Ghana when he heard a military band performing one of Bob Marley’s compositions in Michel Camp; a military barracks where he grew up in Ghana. Dawuni started the annual “Independence Splash” festival, which was held in Ghana on Ghanaian Independence Day, March 6.
The Ghanaian singer, songwriter and record producer who performs his signature ‘Afro Roots’ sound which is a mixture of Reggae, Afrobeat, Highlife and soul music artiste has embrace the opportunity to deliver his vocal dexterity and artistic prowess to patrons on the night.
